Abandoned Wooden Miracles in Russia

Some masterpieces of Russian medieval wooden architecture, completely abandoned.
Some of them look like they are just left – in some even the furniture is still there. The reason they are so undisturbed is that they are situated deep inside the Russian forests.

During World War 2 the Nazi soldiers besides their rifles had also cameras handy and made a lot of photos of the conquered territories. Such pictures were banned in Soviet Russia because they didn’t fit in the official agenda.

These photos were made more than a century ago. It’s amazing that they have been preserved so well till our time. These people would never have thought that, after more than 100 years, people from all over the world would look at these pictures via a thing called Internet.
